New Moon in Pisces

✨
I don’t know about you guys, but Pisces season has absolutely not disappointed in terms of making me sleepy as hell. Don’t get me wrong—as a borderline obsessed dreamwork practitioner, I am all about my sleep, my dreams, and my intuition. It's basically my job description. But boy, have I been sleeping like my life depends on it this month!
Anyway—while the Sun in Pisces has been fully dispersing that stereotypical "sleepy-dreamy" fog, things just got a lot more interesting. Today (Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 9:23 PM EST), the Moon is joining the party at the anaretic degree. This is the "Piscean-ist" point of the entire zodiac, and instead of tucking us into bed, the universe is handing us a compass and a deadline.
That’s right: we’ve got a New Moon at 28° Pisces. In astrology, the anaretic degree is the final, most pressurized point of the sign. If a regular New Moon is a seed, this one is being planted in a pressure cooker. It’s the "last call" for the astrological year, and it’s demanding that we stop just dreaming about our spiritual or creative potential and actually start doing it.
The time for "maybe one day" is officially over. We're at critical mass.
Cosmic Complexity
The thing about astrology is that it doesn’t happen in a vacuum. Everything affects everything else. The energy of every other aspect in the sky gets infused into this New Moon and the entire lunar cycle that follows, adding its own unique flavor and nuance.
So, what else is going on in the sky right now?
A lot.
To give you a quick rundown of the chaos: the Sun and Moon at 28° Pisces are conjunct Neptune (the modern ruler of Pisces) and Saturn (who just moved into Aries). Meanwhile, the traditional ruler of Pisces, Jupiter, is hanging out in Cancer and squaring Venus. On top of that, the Sun and Moon are sextile Uranus.
So, while I could spend the next three hours breaking down every single one of those interactions, I’m going to do us both a favor: I’m stripping it all back. We’re going to ignore the noise and look solely at the major players who are actually driving this bus.
Meet the Major Players 🌌
Before we dive into what this means for your life, let’s break down the cosmic ingredients.
The New Moon
A New Moon occurs when the Sun and Moon are conjunct—perfectly aligned in the same sign. This is the zero-point of the lunar cycle, representing a total reset and the absolute best time to plant seeds for the future.
Keywords: Fresh starts, Intention-setting, Reset, Potential, Inward-focus.
Pisces
The twelfth and final sign of the zodiac, Pisces is the ocean where all other signs dissolve. It is the realm of the subconscious, the spiritual, and the purely intuitive, operating on feelings and vibrations rather than cold, hard facts.
Keywords: Spirituality, Compassion, Dreams, Intuition, Art, Surrender, The Collective Unconscious.
The Anaretic Degree
This is the "final boss" of degrees. It is the 29th degree (specifically 28° in this case) of any sign, representing an intense point of transition. It carries a sense of extreme urgency and the pressure to complete a lesson before moving into a new energy.
Keywords: Urgency, Last Call, Completion, Finality, High Pressure, Critical Mass.
The Synergy: High-Stakes Intuition ⚡️
When you mash these three together, you aren't just getting a "mood"—you’re getting a high-pressure spiritual launchpad. We aren't just daydreaming anymore; the universe is pushing us to take those hazy spiritual insights and turn them into something real before the astrological New Year kicks off in just two days. (Yes, the clock is ticking!) You’re likely feeling a strange, electric mix of being totally done with the old version of yourself while simultaneously buzzing with an intuitive knowing about what’s coming next.
Because this Moon is sitting at the very edge of the sign, those vague Pisces emotions have likely sharpened into something much more urgent. Here is what that looks like in real-time:
Urgent Insights: That gut feeling you’ve been ignoring for months? It’s probably screaming right now. The anaretic degree doesn't do maybe—it forces a resolution. If you’ve been sitting on the fence, expect to be pushed off it today.
Ready or Not: You might feel a sudden, intense urge to launch a project, a lifestyle change, or a new habit that you’ve been "preparing" for for years. The universe is officially declaring the learning phase over. It’s time to execute.
Dreams Crossing the Border: With the Moon conjunct Neptune and Saturn right at the Aries point, the line between your internal world and your external reality is paper-thin. If you can dream it tonight, you can live it tomorrow.
New Moon Intentions: House by House 🏠
To identify which part of your world is begging for a fresh start, just find which house in your natal chart Pisces falls in. Then, use the list below to figure out exactly where you should be planting those big, urgent, and intuitive seeds today.
1st House (Self & Identity): Start a new chapter in how you present yourself. It’s time to lead with your intuition and let your spiritual side be your primary identity.
2nd House (Values & Money): Start a new way of earning that aligns with your soul. This is about monetizing your magic or finding value in your creative gifts.
3rd House (Communication & Learning): Start that blog, podcast, or journal. Your voice is the bridge between the mystical and the mundane right now.
4th House (Home & Roots): Start a new energetic vibe in your living space. This is the perfect time for a spiritual house clearing or creating a dedicated sanctuary at home.
5th House (Creativity & Joy): Start that soul project. Whether it’s writing, art, or a new romance, lead with your heart and stop overthinking the logic of it.
6th House (Wellness & Routine): Start a new daily ritual that honors your body as a temple. Think: intuitive eating, dream journaling every morning, or meditative movement.
7th House (Partnerships): Start a new era in your relationships based on deep, soulful boundaries and spiritual connection. No more surface-level bonds.
8th House (Transformation & Shared Assets): Start a deep-dive into your psyche. This is about new beginnings in healing, intimacy, or reclaiming your power from the past.
9th House (Travel & Higher Wisdom): Start a new course of study or plan a pilgrimage. This is the green light for publishing your philosophy or expanding your horizons.
10th House (Career & Public Image): Start a new professional path that feels like a calling rather than just a job. The world is ready to see your compassionate authority.
11th House (Community & Hopes): Start a new collective movement or find your soul tribe. Align yourself with people who dream as big as you do.
12th House (The Subconscious): Start a serious meditation or dreamwork practice. This is the ultimate behind the scenes reset—get quiet and listen.
The Piscean Threshold 🚪✨
We are standing at the literal edge of a new world. The astrological New Year (Aries season) is only two days away, but this New Moon is demanding we finish the Pisces chapter with intention.
So, if you’ve been feeling that weird, pressurized hum in your bones, don’t fight it. That’s just the dream trying to become real. Don’t worry about having every single detail mapped out—Pisces doesn't need a spreadsheet; it just needs you to trust the current.
Tonight, stop preparing to be the person you want to be and just start being them. You’re ready. The stars aren't asking for permission anymore, and neither should you.
See you in Aries season. ♈️
