This week is packed with some seriously juicy astrology, including not just one, but two important resets.

We call these moments Cazimis. I’ll be the first to admit: they are technical, they are complex, and they can be really confusing to understand. But they are incredibly important right now because we have Venus (the planet of love and value) and Mars (the planet of action and drive) both going Cazimi (aka entering the "heart of the Sun") within days of each other.

Since this double-feature is such a rare occurrence, I want to take a moment to fully break down what a Cazimi actually is and get clear on exactly what this week’s Capricorn reset is asking of us.

To understand the power of this week, we have to start by looking up and remembering one rule: Astrology is always rooted in our point of view from here on Earth. Even though we know the planets revolve around the Sun, our lived experience of them is based on how they move across our sky.

Regardless of our actual position in the solar system, the Sun is the ultimate giver of life—the source of all vitality, energy, and light. It is the reason everything is possible and the force responsible for the creation of it all. Because it is the origin of all life, it is the place where everything is birthed from. So, when a planet comes together with the Sun, we view this meeting as a total reset in the Synodic Cycle.

Think of a Synodic Cycle as a planet's personal "year" or "New Moon" phase. It is the time it takes for a planet to make a full lap and return to the Sun.

It is a period of intense heat where the old version of you is being stripped away.

The word Cazimi comes from the Arabic for "in the heart." This is the moment the planet is at the exact center of the Sun. For a few brief hours, the planet isn't being burned—it’s being purified and empowered. It is being imbued with the immense power and strength of the Sun.

It’s like being granted a private audience with the King. The noise and distraction of the world drop away, and you are given total clarity and a fresh set of instructions for the next two years (for Mars) or next year (for Venus).

Venus is how we relate, what we find beautiful, and what we value. It governs our "inner magnetic pull"—what we draw toward us.

Capricorn is the mountain climber of the zodiac. It is an Earth sign ruled by Saturn, focused on the long game, integrity, and building things that don't crumble.

When you put these together, the "Heart of the Sun" is resetting your values through a lens of realism and structure.

Mars is our engine. It is how we defend ourselves, how we compete, and how we take action. It is the gas pedal of the psyche.

In Capricorn, energy isn't wasted. It is calculated, patient, and incredibly potent. Mars is actually exalted (at its strongest) in this sign.

The combined invitation of a Venus and Mars Cazimi in Capricorn is this: Stop building things that are temporary. The Sun is illuminating the places where you have been playing small, or where your actions (Mars) haven't been matching your heart (Venus). You are being invited to step into a higher level of Personal Integrity. This is the moment to choose the steeper path. The black diamond. A path that requires discipline but leads to a view no one else gets to see.
